Sounds like you are on track, even if the road is a little bumpy.

I discovered your blog a couple of weeks ago and have been looking forward to your weekly updates. I, too, am looking at my food consumption and what you've posted has been very inspirational to me.

Keep up the good work!

Just found your blog. Good luck with everything. Sounds like you're making good progress, especially considering you took a big financial hit this week.

Two pounds may not seem like a lot, but if you can keep up this pace, that will be over 100 pounds by the end of the year!! :)

Brown rice, from my experience, is a little tougher to cook than other varieties. http://www.amazon.com/Steamed-Brown-Organic-Microwaveable-7-4-Ounce/dp/B000FIXT2I/ might be an option, if you've had a similar experience. 90 seconds in the microwave and you'll be good to go.

Air travel isn't comfortable for most people. We have increased security that I'm not sure does anything to actually make us safer and you're charged for everything from a pillow, to a drink, to a cookie in a way that takes the "hospitality" people used to receive out of the experience. I think that adds to how agitated people on planes can be and how they treat fellow passengers as well as airline staff.

About the seating arrangements specifically... It's uncomfortable for a person of average size to sit on a plane (at least in coach), so I feel for what it must be like for somebody with extra pounds.

But what is the solution?

Agree with you that class action in this case isn't the way to go. For one-- where does it stop? I'm 6'3" and don't have the legroom I need to be comfortable. Should I be able to join?

I think a better option is to be able to pay a little more for room. Two seats may be extreme, but for taller people, or those just wanting a little more legroom, some airlines, and I think Air Canada is one, have a "premium seat" option, where certain seats, such as exit rows, may be booked for just a few dollars more.
